The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced today (14 March) the expansion of the Jockey Club Food Assistance Programme, with an additional 30,000 low-incomed people to benefit from its E-Food Bank. This brings to over 126,000 people the Club is providing food assistance to in response to the pandemic.

In urgent response to the fifth wave of COVID-19, The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced today (3 March) a new round of pandemic relief initiatives, including the provision of rapid antigen test kits to eligible NGOs and support for the expansion of community pharmacy services operated by NGOs.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club) is pleased to announce that CEO Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges has been elected as the Vice-President of International Horse Sports Confederation (IHSC).

Responding to the latest wave of the pandemic, and in particular the urgent needs of the most vulnerable members of the community, The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced today (19 February) the injection of HK$100 million to its COVID-19 Emergency Fund. Established in February 2020, the fund provides fast-track grants to NGOs offering essential services to people hard-hit by the pandemic. To date, more than 200 organisations have received grants to implement over 240 projects and have helped over one million people from various sectors.

Responding to the urgent and pressing need to fight the latest wave of the pandemic, The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced today (16 February) the donation of HK$10 million to Hong Kong Community Anti-Coronavirus Link.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club today (29 December) is pleased to announce an approved donation of up to HK$630 million to support a series of initiatives by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club staged the Hong Kong Elite Athletes Raceday at Sha Tin Racecourse today (27 December) in celebration of Hong Kong’s top athletes and of the 30th anniversary of the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI). Elite athletes, Government officials and leaders of sports associations joined the event, which featured the HKSI 30th Anniversary Cup and the Hong Kong Elite Athletes Cup.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club has received Level 4 accreditation, the highest level achievable under the Responsible Gaming Framework of the World Lottery Association (WLA), for its ongoing commitment to promoting responsible gambling. The Club is the first operator in Asia to receive this recognition four times in succession.

In order to enhance epidemic control, the HKSAR Government has announced that from 9 December most public venues and all licensed eateries can only be accessed using the “LeaveHomeSafe” (LHS) mobile app. With some underprivileged senior citizens unable to afford a smartphone and therefore unable to access the “LeaveHomeSafe” app, The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced today (21 December) an approved donation of HK$27 million from its Charities Trust to launch the Jockey Club Digital Support Project for the Elderly.
