Over the years, the Club has contributed to sports development in the Mainland, most especially equine sports development. This includes support for equestrian competitions and facilities, and training in veterinary care and stables management.

The Club was especially honoured to be named an Outstanding Contributor for its support for the equestrian events of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games.

With the signing in May 2021 of a Framework Cooperation Agreement with the Guangzhou Municipal Government, the Club looks forward to the joint development of a world-class equine industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The Club also contributes to relief work following natural disasters, including HK$1 billion pledged towards reconstruction following the Sichuan earthquake of 2008.
