The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust approved a HK$452 million donation to the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) to help establish the Jockey Club Campus of Creativity, which comprises a state-of-the-art creative hub and student residential halls. The donation is the Trust's largest ever to HKBU.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) welcomes the delivery of the Policy Address by the Chief Executive, Mrs Carrie Lam, today and expresses its gratitude to the HKSAR Government’s support on the development of equine industry.

Supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club for the third consecutive year, this year’s Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) is being held from 19 November to 22 November. Through the exhibition, online summit and workshops, GIES aims to promote gerontechnology application and innovation to enhance the elderly’s quality of life.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Chairman Philip Chen joined Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Carrie Lam; Chairman of The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority Board Henry Tang; Chairman of the Board of Hong Kong Palace Museum Bernard Chan; Secretary for Home Affairs Caspar Tsui and other guests to officiate at the Completion of Building Structure Ceremony of the Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) today (18 November).

To address the needs of an ageing population and to enhance mental health among older people, JC JoyAge: Jockey Club Holistic Support Project for Elderly Mental Wellness (JC JoyAge) launched Phase II of its work. By extending coverage of its community-based support network to all 18 districts from four pilot ones and by fostering 5,000 new mental health first aiders, JC JoyAge aims to promote active ageing in the community.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club today (5 November) awarded scholarships to a new cohort of 45 undergraduates from various tertiary institutions in recognition of their outstanding academic performance and commitment to serve the community, and to six postgraduates to support their pursuance of master’s or doctoral degrees at the University of Oxford or Harvard University. The Club also congratulated 25 graduating scholars as they embark on new endeavours.

CLAP for Youth@JC 2020 Conference, which is being held online today and tomorrow (3 and 4 November), invited local and overseas educators to share best practices on career and life planning. It also discussed how society can better support our youth in discovering their potential and how the academic, social and business sectors as well as parents, can help their career development. Around 1,400 people are joining the two-day conference.

More than 40 classic masterpiecesby Renaissance maestro Sandro Botticelli and prestigious Florentine artists of the era will be on display for the first time in Hong Kong at the The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Botticelli and His Times ─ Masterworks from the Uffizi exhibition. The exhibition, to be held from 23 October 2020 to 24 February 2021 at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, showcases the painting techniques, cultural values, and aesthetic achievements during the Renaissance period.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced today (15 September) the launch of the Jockey Club Food Assistance Programme with approved funding of HK$240 million from its Charities Trust. The programme will offer transitional and timely relief to ease financial burdens and provide healthy, nutritious food supplies for those who have become unemployed or underemployed during the COVID-19 pandemic and who are not currently receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) and other regular food assistance. Over 70,000 people are expected to benefit.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced today (1 September) its results for the 2019/20 financial year ended 30 June 2020. Despite a challenging year, the Club returned a total of HK$25.2 billion to the community. This included HK$19.9 billion in duty and profits tax to the Government, HK$0.8 billion to the Lotteries Fund, and HK$4.5 billion in donations approved by the Club’s Charities Trust. The latter included a commitment of HK$346 million to tackle the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
