Illegal betting continues to grow at an alarming rate and poses an increasingly complex threat to horseracing, according to Hong Kong Jockey Club Executive Director, Racing and Asian Racing Federation (ARF) Secretary General Mr. Andrew Harding.

The 51st Hong Kong Arts Festival (HKAF) opened today (17 February) with the theme of “Coming Back, Moving Forward”. The Hong Kong Jockey Club continues to support this leading arts extravaganza in a partnership that dates back to the festival’s launch over five decades ago.

In a scene-setting opening address at the 39th Asian Racing Conference in Melbourne on Wednesday (15 February), Asian Racing Federation (ARF) Chairman and Hong Kong Jockey Club Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges encouraged racing leaders to embrace change and collaborate more in the face of global challenges.

The 39th Asian Racing Conference (ARC) had its official opening during a ceremony in Melbourne last night (Tuesday, 14 February), marking the fifth time Australia has hosted the event since the first ARC in 1960.

Over 1,700 athletes comprising those with intellectual disabilities and their pair-up runners participated in the TWGHs "iRun" – The Hong Kong Jockey Club Special Marathon 2023 (iRun) that took place along the Central and Western District Promenade today (8 January) to promote social inclusion. It was the highest number of participants the iRun had welcomed in recent years. Funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club's Charities Trust and organised by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs), this year's iRun event also introduced a Family Run category – "iRun for Family" to encourage greater community participation among families with special needs.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced today (3 January) the appointment of Mr Dennis Hau as Executive Director, Customer Strategy, Insights and Innovation (EDCSII) with effect from 11 January 2023.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club ("the Club") Today (21 Dec 2022) paid a courtesy call on Mr. Liu Guangyuan, Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region ("OCMFA"), and signed a Collaboration Agreement on "Hong Kong Cup Diplomatic Knowledge Contest and Related Activities" ("the Contest"), to enhance Hong Kong students' interest in international affairs, their senses of belonging towards the country and national identity.

Exclusively supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Women and Femininity in Ancient China – Treasures from the Nanjing Museum opens tomorrow at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. Featuring a selection of 118 female-related artefacts from the Nanjing Museum, which are being exhibited in Hong Kong for the first time, the exhibition will run until 27 February 2023.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (The Club) will unveil a brand new car park at the Sha Tin Racecourse (STRC) from this Friday, 2 December 2022.
