The Club owes its origins to a group of racing enthusiasts with a shared passion for horse racing excellence and a tradition of community giving who, in 1884, joined together to found a racing club.

Today, Club members own and race some of the world’s leading thoroughbred racehorses. Over the years members’ horses have achieved historic wins, including against top international competition, making possible the success of Hong Kong racing at the world-class level. This spirit of champions is celebrated each year at the Champion Awards, when the racing community comes together to salute the season’s most outstanding horses and horsemen.

Members also pursue their equine interests through participation in equestrian sports, notably at Beas River Equestrian Centre, which provides stabling and training facilities and a competition venue.

It was also Club members who initiated the Club’s first charity donations just over 100 years ago, the Club later expanding its support to build schools, clinics, parks and many other community facilities.

Located in the heart of Beijing, Beijing Clubhouse provides first-class accommodation and business facilities for Members travelling to Beijing. The clubhouse has organised a number of charity events and raised funds to support education and children’s welfare programmes in the Mainland.

The Hilltop in The Valley

Located in the heart of Hong Kong, The Hilltop in The Valley is the Club’s flagship clubhouse. It offers Members a diverse range of dining and recreational facilities as well as banquet venues for business meetings and various events. The Club’s annual general meeting is held at The Hilltop in The Valley.

Sha Tin Clubhouse

Located next to Sha Tin Racecourse, the award-winning Sha Tin Clubhouse offers Members an enriching lifestyle and an opportunity to celebrate the pursuit of racing success. During the week, Members can relax in a choice of dining venues or enjoy a healthy work-out, while on racedays the clubhouse offers a grandstand view as Sha Tin comes alive with world-class racing action.

Beas River Country Club

Located in Hong Kong’s rural area, Beas River Country Club is a rare haven of country living. With its wide open spaces and countryside views it is the perfect place to unwind. For those who want to truly get away, there is a choice of overnight accommodation. There are also plenty of opportunities to experience the elegance of horses at the Club’s equestrian centre.
