The Hong Kong Jockey Club Equestrian Team brought pride to the city after team members Kenneth Cheng and Raena Leung clinched a silver and a bronze medal, respectively, in the individual jumping competition yesterday (8 Dec) at the FEI Asian Championships Pattaya 2019. In addition to two silver medals in eventing and a gold medal in team jumping, the Hong Kong team members have won medals in all the competitions they participated in.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Equestrian Team members Kenneth Cheng, Jacqueline Lai, Patrick Lam and Raena Leung bagged a gold medal in team jumping today (6 December) at the FEI Asian Championships Pattaya 2019. This is the third medal for Hong Kong, after the squad clinched two silver medals in eventing yesterday. It is also a historic moment, as it is Hong Kong’s first team jumping gold medal.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Equestrian Team member Patrick Lam won a silver medal in individual eventing for Hong Kong at the inaugural FEI Asian Championships Pattaya 2019 today (5 Dec) while the team comprising Patrick Lam, Annie Ho, Thomas Ho and Yu-xuan Su also won a silver medal in team eventing at the competition.

To help provide more hostel spaces at universities and enrich students’ learning experiences, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust has supported the construction of the Jockey Club Postgraduate Halls 2 & 3 of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) with an approved donation of over HK$137 million. The two new postgraduate student halls, officially inaugurated today (23 October), provide a total of 676 hostel places.

Tai Kwun – Centre for Heritage and Arts today has received the Award of Excellence in this year's UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation. The award bestows an international recognition of the outstanding achievement in the conservation and revitalisation efforts for the Central Police Station (CPS) Revitalisation Project, undertaken by The Hong Kong Jockey Club. 

The grand final of the CoolThink@JC Competition, which aims to develop computational thinking among primary students, was held today (12 October) at City University of Hong Kong. The team from King’s College Old Boys’ Association Primary School No.2 clinched the Champion of the “App Inventor” category with their outstanding app “Make good use of the Health Care Vouchers” (《善用長者醫療券》); while the Champion of the “Scratch” category goes to the team from Ma Tau Chung Government Primary School with their creative app “Safe swimming” (《Safe游記》).

Today (21 September) saw the official launch of the “Smart City Walk” mobile app which is a navigation tool aimed at helping the visually impaired move around independently both indoors and outdoors. The mobile app has been developed by the Hong Kong Blind Union with aid from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust as part of the “Jockey Club Smart City Walk Project”.

Local football fans are in for a special treat on Sunday 22 September when the first trophy match of the season, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Cup, is contested at Mong Kok Stadium – the culmination of a gala afternoon of sporting fun that will also feature an equivalent under-13 challenge and an exhibition game between two teams of jockeys and football legends.

The annual dance of a spectacular 220-foot-long fire dragon was performed through the streets in Tai Hang tonight (12 September), attracting many residents and tourists to watch this unique tradition of Hong Kong’s Mid-Autumn Festival. This 140-year old tradition has been supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust since 2010 in collaboration with the Tai Hang Residents’ Welfare Association.

At the Annual General Meeting of The Hong Kong Jockey Club today (28 August), Voting Members re-elected four Stewards to the Board to serve further terms of three years each. They are Mr Philip N L Chen GBS JP, Mr Stephen Ip Shu Kwan GBS JP, The Hon Martin Liao GBS SBS JP and Mr Silas S S Yang JP.
