07/02/2024 19:40

The Hong Kong Jockey Club will once again be joining the International Chinese New Year Night Parade as Hong Kong welcomes in the Year of the Dragon on the first day of Chinese New Year (10 February). This is the 25th year the Club has participated.

Carrying the theme “Blooming With You!”, the Club’s float will feature galloping horses crafted from over 2,000 flowers and dynamic animations inspired by Chinese geometric patterns and illuminations, encouraging everyone to bloom with vibrancy in the year ahead.

Jacqueline Siu, a member of the HKJC Equestrian Team and winner of a silver medal in individual dressage and a bronze medal in team dressage at the Hangzhou Asian Games, and Club apprentice jockey Angus Chung will also make an appearance. They will be joined by the Club’s “Progressing Together Cheering Team” to share Chinese New Year greetings with spectators along the Parade route.

Hong Kong rapper and musician Dough-Boy, winner of Best Original Film Song at the Hong Kong Film Awards, has been invited to compose the Parade music for the Club, with its float being accompanied by spectacular performances by dancers, drummers and lion dancers, fusing tradition and modernity.

Making its way around the streets of Tsim Sha Tsui, the Club’s float will welcome in the Year of the Dragon with vibrancy and vitality, sharing the Club’s commitment to progressing together with Hong Kong - then, now and always.

Following the Parade, the float will be on display at Chinese New Year Raceday at Sha Tin Racecourse on the third day of Chinese New Year (12 February).
