The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced today (16 March) the appointment of Ms Shella Ng to the position of Executive Director, Legal and Compliance (“EDLC”) with effect from 1 April 2020.  Ms Ng will succeed the current EDLC, Ms Philana Poon, who has decided to leave the Club on 1 June 2020 after completing her contract.

In her capacity as EDLC, Ms Ng will drive the performance of the Club’s legal and compliance activities and act as the Company Secretary of the Club.  She will be a member of the Board of Management and report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges.

Immediately prior to joining the Club, Ms Ng spent seven months with OYO Hotels, a SoftBank invested startup business in China, to assist them in assembling a legal team and establishing a framework of legal compliance protocols and processes.
