The Hong Kong Jockey Club is pleased to announce today (20 July) that nine athletes (11 rider-horse combinations) supported by the Club will represent Hong Kong, China at the 19th Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou from September to October this year. This is the largest equestrian squad Hong Kong, China has ever sent to the games. All of the athletes are members of the HKJC Equestrian Team and have benefited from high-level coaching and professional support provided by the Club under the Hong Kong Equestrian Performance Plan.

The newly rebuilt HKFYG Jockey Club Stanley Outdoor Training Camp reopened today (19 July), offering more opportunities for disadvantaged groups and young people to enjoy the pleasures and benefits of water sports. The redevelopment of the camp, which is operated by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG), was supported by an approved donation of over HK$140 million from The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Charities Trust.

Organised by The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”), the Jockey Club Youth Football Academy Summit (“the Summit”) is making a comeback after a four-year hiatus and will be held in Hong Kong from 6 to 13 August.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club) marked the 26th anniversary of the Hong KongSpecial Administrative Region (HKSAR) today (1 July) at Sha Tin Racecourse by staging the Hong Kong Reunification Raceday. In line with various celebratory activities in the city, the Club offered free admission to the Public Enclosure for racing fans at Sha Tin and Happy Valley, as well as discounts for selected food and beverage items with a special price set at 71% of their original purchase price at trackside catering outlets.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) announced today (26 June) the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with the Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government to further strengthen Hangzhou-Hong Kong cooperation and exchange with the aim of promoting and driving the development of the equine sports industry in the country.

Organised by the Volleyball Association of Hong Kong, China, the FIVB Volleyball Nations League returns to Hong Kong after a four-year hiatus, with eight world-class teams converging on the city to compete for final-round qualification. To celebrate the return of this international sporting event, The Hong Kong Jockey Club, as the Official Community Partner of the competition, is supporting the Jockey Club Community Volleyball Programmes, which are providing opportunities for the community to enjoy the excitement of world-class volleyball.

In order to provide an opportunity for youngsters to join the horse racing industry and promote diversified development for multiple pathways, The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Apprentice Jockeys’ School, which is under the Racing Talent Training Centre, is recruiting its latest intake of Racing Trainees starting today (Monday, 12 June), with the closing date for applications being Saturday, 29 July.

Content from two initiatives supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club through its Charities Trust to promote innovation and technology (I&T) in primary and secondary schools will be adopted and adapted in two Curriculum Modules on Innovation and Technology Education soon to be launched by the Education Bureau (EDB). The initiatives, the Trust-created and funded CoolThink@JC programme and Trust-funded CUHK Jockey Club AI for the Future Project, were created to achieve that very purpose. They are intended to equip students with essential skills needed for a 21st-century workforce and enhance the digital competency among youngsters through the promotion of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) education.
