HKJC wins Best Club Wedding Banquet Award

30/11/2010

The Hong Kong Jockey Club has been honoured as offering the “Best Club Wedding Banquet” in the Bridal Awards 2010, acknowledging its customer-centred services and its high reputation for convenient and comprehensive services among local wedding couples. Its Happy Valley Racecourse is popular among bridal couples and received the highest votes under the Club Wedding Banquet category.

Organised by ESDlife, the annual Bridal Awards are aimed at recognising outstanding business entities for their wedding services, based on feedback from bridal couples and public voting.  Members of the public were invited to cast their votes from June to August.

In total, there are 12 banquet venues at Happy Valley and Sha Tin Racecourses, providing a range of flexible venues to suit either Chinese or Western-style wedding banquets of different scales.  Two designated venues are also available for celebrant services.

Couples are eligible to enjoy the use of a horse carriage or Shetland pony for photo-taking.  This service is sure to add a special romantic touch to the banquet and leave the couples and their guests with unforgettable memories of the big day.

In support of ecological sustainability, the Club has joined the Alternative Shark-free Menu Programme of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and is offering alternatives for shark's fin soup, which has long been a traditional item on wedding menus.  Customers can choose to replace it with a double-boiled soup containing precious ingredients and high nutrients.  The Club has also followed the recommendations of the WWF Seafood Guide in developing ocean-friendly menus that offer sustainable seafood choices.
