Club's brand recognised by top business leaders

28 October 2008

The Hong Kong Jockey Club has been named "Best Entertainment Brand in Hong Kong" in this year's Hong Kong Brands Awards, organised by The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham).

Winners of the Hong Kong Brands Awards are selected by AmCham members through an online survey polling their perceptions of each brand's quality and value. Having earlier been shortlisted as one of the three finalists in the "Best Entertainment Brand" category, the Club was announced the winner at the Brand Hong Kong gala dinner on 23 October.

This latest award is one of numerous brand-related accolades won by the Club in recent years, underlining the wide recognition it enjoys in the local and international community and the strong impact that it has on almost every aspect of life in Hong Kong, reaching far beyond horse racing. Executive Director of Corporate Development Kim Mak stressed that the Club, as a not-for-profit organisation, existed for the benefit of Hong Kong. "Whatever we do in our different areas of operation, we are aiming at doing good for Hong Kong," Mak said. "This is really what the Club's brand is all about. It has always been our belief that the best interests of Hong Kong people are also the Club's interests. The Hong Kong Jockey Club is everybody's club, and all Hong Kong people can feel proud of what it has achieved."
