Jockey Club Summer Internship Programme to help IVE students equip themselves this summer

17 June 2008

A group of 168 students from The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) will visit Beijing this summer to participate in an eight-week internship training programme funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club.

This is the second year of operation of the summer internship programme, which aims at helping IVE students broaden their practical work skills, global outlook and adaptability, and thus enhance their future employability. The Hong Kong Jockey Club donated HK$4.87 million to IVE to launch the programme in 2007 and operate it for three years. This year's student interns will be assigned to some 30 different business and non-governmental organisations in Beijing according to their disciplines, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sohu.com, and Plaza Royale Hotel Beijing.
