The 2008 Beijing Olympics have been attracting the world's attention and Hong Kong, as one of the co-host cities, is no exception. On 31st December 2007 (New Year's Eve), Guangzhou Daily organized an Olympic tour to Hong Kong for a group of reporters and readers to get first-hand experience of the newly-constructed main equestrian venue at Shatin. Mr Kong Guo-xian, Guangzhou Football Ambassador, a former member of China's national football team who represented China in the Seoul Olympics in 1988, was also part of the group.

After Hong Kong, the group will continue on its Olympic journey to other Chinese cities including Shanghai, Qingdao, Qinhuangdao, Tianjin, Shenyang and Beijing.
