The Hong Kong Jockey Club Has Won the HKMA Management Development Credit Unit - Company Award

The Hong Kong Jockey Club has won the HKMA Management Development Credit Unit - Company Award for sponsoring the largest number of staff members to management training programmes organised by HKMA from October 2006 to September 2007. The TeleBet Programme, the Magic of We, with its accreditation with HKMA has been a key contributor to the award.

The presentation ceremony was held at the HKMA Annual fellowship dinner on 27 November, during which Mr Kim Mak, Executive Director, Corporate Development, represented the Club to receive the plaque.

Under 'the Magic of We' programme, our telebet colleagues were trained with the aim to improve the team cohesion and promote a sense of belonging, as well as to enhance the participants' skill to leadership and mindset of customer service.

In the year 2006/2007, the Hong Kong Jockey Club has offered 14,374 days of training to 6,700 full-time and part-time staff members. Mr Kim Mak said with the Club as being one of the largest employers in Hong Kong with a total number of over 24,000 full-time and part-time staff members, it was important that the Club provided a pleasant working environment and continuously helped to broaden the skill of its employees to maintain a high standard of service and productivity as well as team cooperation. He further added that the investment in human resources not only enabled the Club meet that strategic goal, but also in the hope to contribute to the positive development of the overall Hong Kong workforce.
