a£á?Progressing Together for an Auspicious Yeara£á? CNY float spreads happiness and blessings in the Year of the Monkey

02/08/2016

The Hong Kong Jockey Club joined the annual International Chinese New Year Night Parade tonight (8 February). Under the theme of “Progressing Together for an Auspicious Year”, and employing a fusion of traditional Chinese festive elements and modern design concepts, the float expressed the Club’s firm commitment to creating a brighter future for Hong Kong. It was one of the glittering highlights of the brightly-lit floats in the parade.

Echoing the theme of this year’s float, the eleven members of the Club’s “Progressing Together Cheering Team” joined the parade dressed in their all-new Chinese New Year outfits. Accompanied by around fifty Chinese dancing lions, they formed an eye-catching parade team of over 160 performers who gave their all to the role, sharing auspicious Year of the Monkey greetings and wishing everyone good fortune and great happiness.  Their performance drew an exuberant response from the local residents and visitors lining the route of the parade.

To share the festive atmosphere, a special “Let’s Catch Good Fortune” game is available on the Club’s website 203.215.253.53/cnyfloat from now until 10 February. By catching the falling peach blossoms, players can create a series of unique Fai Chun messages to be shared with friends and family through social media or e-mail.
