07/27/2013

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust has donated some HK$3 million to The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) to organise a citywide youth development programme to encourage young people to express their creativity and positive energy through photography, video, animation, flash dance and singing, so as to promote social inclusion and solidarity.

Today (27 July), the Club's Chief Executive Officer Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges joined HKSAR Chief Secretary Carrie Lam, HKFYG President Dr Peter Tsoi and Executive Director Dr Rosanna Wong to officiate at the opening ceremony of Co-create Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza.

Mr Engelbrecht-Bresges said the Club was delighted to be partnering the Federation for this fantastic youth programme. Co-create Hong Kong will run through to December, featuring four major events, comprising Photos & Short Film Competition; Dance Competition and Carnival; Animation Workshops and Contest; and a Cappella Concert. About 4,500 young people are expected to participate in the programme, and reach an audience of over 1 million through mass media.
