HKJC College sees eye to eye with global organisations

05/24/2013

The Hong Kong Jockey Club College, officially opened in 2012 to promote lifelong learning among the Club's employees, has been honoured with an Award of Excellence in the 2013 CorpU Learning Excellence and Innovation Awards.  The accolade in the Launching category of these international awards recognises the successful beginning of this pioneering corporate university.

The HKJC College also won the Best Practice Award under the Alliances category for the successful accreditation of its programmes under the Government’s Qualifications Framework (QF).

Also on the awards list were leading global enterprises such as Microsoft, HP and hotel chain Hilton Worldwide, a testimony to the high standard of the Club’s people development and training policies.

As one of the city's largest employers, the Club attaches great importance to the development of its 26,000-strong workforce. Its establishment of the HKJC College made the Club the first non-tertiary institution and non-professional association in Hong Kong to be accredited to run programmes up to Level IV in the Government’s Qualifications Framework, benchmarking with Associate Degree level in the academic structure. The College currently offers 24 QF-recognised training programmes, including the Advanced Certificate in Managing Service Excellence which has now returned its first batch of graduates.

The annual CorpU Learning Excellence and Innovation Awards programme was launched by American corporate training organisation Corporate University Xchange in 1999, to honour organisations from around the world for improvements in both business and employee performance. Its independent panel of judges comprises leaders and experts from global enterprises.
