Mums ride high at Tuen Mun Public Riding School celebration

05/12/2013

Over 3,000 local residents flocked to The Hong Kong Jockey Club Tuen Mun Public Riding School Open Day today (12 May) to celebrate Mother’s Day with mums and enjoy a series of equine-themed activities, as well as learn about horses and equestrian sport.

About the Hong Kong Jockey Club Riding Schools

The Club has long supported the development of equestrian sport in the city and has funded the establishment of three public riding schools.  They are located in Chai Wan and Pok Fu Lam on Hong Kong Island, and Tuen Mun in the New Territories.  The Beas River Equestrian Centre located at Sheung Shui is exclusively for Jockey Club members’ use. All establishments are professionally managed by the Club's Equestrian Affairs Department and are recognised by the British Horse Society.

Tuen Mun Public Riding School is the largest amongst the three public riding schools and serves over 22,000 people each year, while Lei Yue Mun and Pok Fu Lam each year serve 16,000 and 15,000 people respectively.
