10/14/2012

Hong Kong riders gave another competitive performance in the third and final leg of the 2012 FEI World Cup Jumping Chinese League today (14 Oct), held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Patrick Lam, a member of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Equestrian Team, collected 4 faults to finish eighth in the final leg.  His team-mate Raena Leung cleared every fence to enter the jump-off with 3 other riders, where she was eliminated due to falling off.  Eventually she finished fourth in the final leg.

With all three legs of this year’s Chinese League now completed, Lam finished third in the overall ranking, while Leung stands second.  The overall champion of the 2012 Chinese League is Liu Tongyan from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.  He earned the single coveted "admission ticket" for the 2013 FEI World Cup Jumping finals, which will take place next April in Goteborg, Sweden.
