10/03/2012

Hong Kong rider Patrick Lam continues to hold a competitive position in the 2012 FEI World Cup Jumping Chinese League following the second leg of the contest completed today (3 Oct) in Beijing.  Taking on 34 riders from 10 countries and regions, Lam, a member of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Equestrian Team, finished tenth today with four faults.  His team-mate Raena Leung was fifth, also collecting four faults but finishing in a faster time.  Another Club-sponsored rider, Kenneth Cheng, finished with 16 faults.

The third and final leg of the competition, hosted by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on 13/14 October.  Both Lam and Leung still have competitive chances of earning the single coveted "admission ticket" for the 2013 FEI World Cup Jumping finals, one of the richest jumping events in the world, which will take place next April in Goteborg, Sweden.
