Club's mini-ponies and equestrian exhibition add fun to International Museum Day

15 May 2008

An exhibition on the Olympic Equestrian Events and equestrian sports and the chance to get up close with miniature ponies will be among the attractions on offer this Saturday and Sunday, 17/18 May, at the 2008 International Museum Day's Museum Panorama, in which the Club's Hong Kong Racing Museum is one of the featured participants.

The Hong Kong Racing Museum is reaching out to the public with its own exhibition booth at the two-day Museum Panorama event. Adults and children can learn more about the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Equestrian Events and equestrian sports through a series of informative display panels, as well as trying to win souvenirs in an equestrian sports quiz game. The Club's adorable mini-ponies will also be on hand on both days of the event to pose for photos with visitors.

The Museum Panorama of the 2008 International Museum Day will take place at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon on 17 and 18 May from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.  Admission is free.

The Hong Kong Racing Museum opened in 1996. Besides offering visitors many fascinating insights into the history of horse racing in Hong Kong, the Museum stages thematic exhibitions on a regular basis to highlight the Club's long-standing role as a community benefactor. Located on the second floor of the Happy Valley Stand at Happy Valley Racecourse on Wong Nai Chung Road (opposite the end of Queen's Road East), the Museum is open from Tuesdays to Sundays and most Public Holidays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. During day race meetings at Happy Valley, it opens from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm only. Admission is free. For enquiries please contact the Racing Museum on (852) 2966 8065.
