31 October 2007

A delegation of four Senators from the Czech Republic visited the Olympic equestrian venue at the Hong Kong Sports Institute and Sha Tin Racecourse on Monday, October 29. The visit was organised by the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong, headed by the Consul General Rudolf Hykl and Vice-Consul Rene Zeleny. The delegates had earlier visited the Olympic venues in Beijing.

Professor Karel Bartak, chairman of the Committe on Education, Science, Culture, Human Rights and Petitions, presented a limited edition print of the Czech Senate buildings to The Jockey Club as a memento of the visit. The print was accepted on behalf of the Club by Grania Willis, Public Affairs Consultant (Equestrian Affairs).
