5 September 2006

Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee paid a visit to Sha Tin Racecourse on 5 September toreceive an update on the preparation work and construction of the venues for the equestrian events of the 2008 Olympic Games.

Kim Mak, Executive Director, Corporate Development and June Teng, Head of Public Affairs received Mr Lee and gave him an introduction on the progress of venue construction. They enjoyed a panoramic view of Sha Tin Racecourse from the Steward's Box balcony. Mr Lee then moved to the Racing Laboratory and the Equine Hospital where briefings were given by David Leung, Racing Chemist and Lawrence Chan, Veterinary Surgeon.  The one-hour visit not only gave Mr Lee a clearer picture on the work progress for the 2008 Olympic equestrian events but also a deep impression on the Club's globally acclaimed horse racing facilities.
