HKJC wins HKRMA Service and Courtesy Award

The Hong Kong Jockey Club's outstanding customer service has earned it the 2008 Service and Courtesy Award in the Retail (Service) category at supervisory level, it was announced by organiser the Hong Kong Retail Management Association (HKRMA) at a press conference today (27 October).

The HKRMA Service and Courtesy Award is one of the most widely supported and well recognised annual events within the retail industry in Hong Kong.  This year the Award attracted 636 candidates from 99 retailers.  Award winners were selected after several rounds of assessments, including mystery shopper evaluations and interviews with judging panels.

This is the first time the Club has entered the HKRMA competition.  The Club's Executive Director of Betting Henry Chan said was delighted at its debut success, commenting: "I am very honoured that the Club's high standard of customer service has been recognised by top professionals in the industry.  Nowadays quality service is a must for retailers and it is always a challenge to keep outperforming within the retail industry."

"This success can be attributed to the great efforts of our frontline staff who always strive for service excellence and try to exceed customers' expectations," Mr Chan added.

The Club is committed to providing customers with excellent service, which necessitates continuous service enhancements to meet the market's ever-changing demands.  To equip frontline staff with enhanced service skills and product knowledge, the Club provides ongoing training programmes for its staff.  Award won by Branch Supervisor Sharon Chan Sze-wai exemplifies the outstanding service standards delivered by frontline staff of the Club.
