The Hong Kong Jockey Club again participated in the annual International Chinese New Year Night Parade tonight (16 February) for the 23rd consecutive year. With the theme “Striding On for Prosperity”, the float was uniquely designed using windmills and horseshoes - a combination of traditional Chinese and Western symbols - for good fortune. The spinning gold windmills reflect the Club striding on with the community of Hong Kong in the promising Year of the Dog.

Echoing the theme of the float, the Club’s “Progressing Together Cheering Team” dressed in traditional Chinese New Year outfits, joined HKJC Equestrian Team rider Clarissa Lyra and apprentice jockey Dylan Mo Hin-tung to greet crowds lining the route. An eye-catching team of tap dancers and a lion dance troupe of 18 lions drew an exuberant response from spectators for their crossover “Tap Lion Dance” which integrates tap dance steps with traditional lion dance and contemporary music.

To share the festive atmosphere, a special “Let’s Catch Good Fortune” game is available on the Club’s website http://campaigns.hkjc.com/cnyfloat/en/ from now until 28 February. All are welcome to create their personalised “Fai Chun” messages to share with friends and family on social media.
