The Hong Kong Jockey Club confirms that it has received enquiries from Legislative Councilor Honorable Ma Fung Kwok and other parties regarding the welfare of athletes of the Junior Equestrian Team (JETS).
The Club attaches high importance to the ethical conduct of its employees .We therefore took these enquiries seriously and immediately conducted a comprehensive investigation, including interviews with concerned parties. The investigation found that a riding instructor had used sexually explicit language in the course of his duties. On this basis, the Club terminated the employment of the riding instructor on 24 November 2017.
The Club would like to reiterate that it takes all allegations of employee misconduct very seriously. It does not and will not tolerate any employee behaviour which violates or infringes the Club’s Code of Conduct.
