Riding High Together Festival Photo Release

04/16/2017

The Riding High Together Festival, The Hong Kong Jockey Club's annual flagship community event, ended today (16 April). The three-day Festival – under the theme ''Lets Kindle our Creativity -- attracted around 47,000 people to Sha Tin Racecourse and Penfold Park during the Easter weekend where they enjoyed more than 70 ''edutainment'' activities.

Highlights of the Festival included the breaking of a Guinness World Record where around 1,000 participants created clay sculptures of Easter bunnies for the Largest Sculpting Lesson. Two records had already been broken at the previous festivals. Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel also made an appearance, playing with kids and teaching football skills. And in addition to the equestrian activities at Penfold Park, there were numerous live shows, including Unicycling Encounters, Puppet Theatre, African Drum Jam, as well as performances by the Hong Kong Rope Skipping team.

Now in its third year, the Festival's activities were divided into ten zones arranged around five themes: Horse Encounters; Inspiration & Fun; Let's be Active; Snap & Share; and Live Performances. In total, over 100,000 people attended all three festivals.
