06/07/2016

The Club would like to announce that emergency propping work at the East Wing of the Married Inspectors’ Quarters has been completed. A joint inspection by the project Registered Structural Engineer (RSE) and the Buildings Department was carried out today (7 June, 2016) and the RSE confirmed that the East Wing is considered to be safe and stable.  With the agreement of the Buildings Department the section of Arbuthnot Road closed to traffic has now been reopened by the Police.  We apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate the patience and understanding of the public.

Salvaging of materials from the damaged portion of the Married Inspectors’ Quarters has now commenced.  The safety inspection of other buildings and structures at the Central Police Station site continues. We will keep the public informed of progress.
