12/13/2013

Thirty-six lucky children accompanied by a parent or guardian enjoyed a unique experience tonight (13 December) at the Hong Kong Science Museum.  “A Night with Dinosaurs” is part of the family programme of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Legends of the Giant Dinosaurs exhibition.

The Club's Head of Charities Projects Rhoda Chan and the HKJC Equestrian Ambassador were on hand to distribute goody bags to tonight’s 72 participants who were able to enjoy an early Christmas celebration.

Solely sponsored by the Club’s Charities Trust with a HK$13 million donation and presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the unprecedented exhibition of dinosaurs is being staged until 9 April 2014.  The exhibition features more than 100 precious fossils and exhibits, including robotic dinosaurs, and is supported by various education programmes, enabling the public to have a better understanding on the daily life of dinosaurs.

The education programmes are linked with the curriculum of primary and secondary schools, and complemented with a teachers’ guide and activity sheets for students.  Moreover, all local schools can apply for a Trust-funded transport subsidy scheme, to allow more students, especially those in remote areas, to enjoy the exhibition.
