10/04/2012

The Hong Kong Jockey Club today announced that it will observe one minute's silence in mourning for those who lost their lives in the ferry tragedy off Lamma Island on 1 October.  The ceremony will take place in the Parade Ring of Sha Tin Racecourse at 12:25pm before the start of the race meeting this Saturday, 6 October.

Flags on all Club premises are to be flown at half mast for three days from today to Saturday, 6 October.

The Club's Charities Trust will provide emergency relief funding for families of victims in need.  The Club is working closely with the Social Welfare Department on this issue.  We will continue to monitor the situation, and to assess the needs of those who were injured.
