Club-sponsored rider goes second in the 2011 FEI World Cup Jumping Chinese League

The 2011 FEI World Cup Jumping Chinese League has concluded on Sunday (16 Oct 2011) after three legs of competition. Hong Kong rider Samantha Lam, a member of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Equestrian Team, finished a gallant second in the overall standings with a total score of 50 after the three-leg event. Club-sponsored rider Patrick Lam and another Hong Kong rider Raena Leung, got a total score of 33 and 29.5, took the fifth and sixth place respectively in the overall standings.  

The final leg of the 2011 FEI World Cup Jumping Chinese League attracted more than 30 elite riders world-wide. Huang Zuping from China was the overall champion with a total score of 57!

As a major supporter of equine sports in Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Jockey Club had committed HK$50 million to establish the HKJC Equestrian Team and Junior Equestrian Team after the Beijing 2008 Olympics. The team members have already won first medals for Hong Kong in the 2009 National Games, the 2010 Youth Olympics and the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games.
